Breakfast Chef at Sarabande
It has been some time since I’ve been active on here because I’ve been grinding. Right before COVID hit, I quit my corporate gig and went traveling.
When I returned, I felt torn about going back into the food industry. I vividly remember chatting with a dear pal who said, “Caro, I can really envision you cooking breakfast at some kind of bnb or hostel for people.”And lo and behold, for about one year now, I have been doing just that. I am one of two breakfast chefs at a local Albuquerque bed and breakfast called, Sarabande.
The day starts early at the bnb. I arrive at 6am to provide guests with the lovely option of coffee service & fresh pastries and then made to order breakfast either in our dining room or delivered to their room.
The bnb is a charming getaway and I’ve had the chance to stretch myself creatively by devising daily specials, trying out new baked good recipes, cooking for retreats, and the occasional pop-up dinner. All of this happens in one of the most open & lovely feeling kitchens I’ve had the pleasure of cooking in. It has been a real supportive gig and I’m grateful for it.
If you’re thinking about coming to visit Albuquerque, consider staying a night or two and I’ll make you breakfast in the morning.
